Patricia is a Partner of the firm, active in different areas of the law, concentrating her practice in business and corporate law, with significant experience in corporate financing, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, corporate governance, tax law, energy law, financial market, intellectual property, real estate and trusts.

Patricia has more than 10 years of experience assisting national and international clients and acting as counsel in major real estate transactions, in the sale/acquisition in different sectors including energy projects, hotels, pharmaceuticals and other manufactures, as counsel of local parties as well of international banks providing finance. She also provides tax advice in general, including disputes regarding tax aspects and assist in significant loan restructurings for companies and financial entities with multijurisdictional security packages, as well a big range of national and international commercial transactions. 

Since 2021 has been recognized as “Associate to Watch” by Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 as “Rising Star” due to her assistance in landmark business transactions in the local legal industry, as well as major tax cases. 

She has extensive experience in the energy sector. During 2021 she acted as local counsel in a tendering process for the provision of new generation of energy made by the Electricity Distribution Companies and coordinated by the Ministry of Energy. She also participated in the largest issuance of green bonds in Central America for the purpose of financing different renewable energy projects in Latin America including Dominican Republic.

She has also acted as legal advisor to more than 15 foreign financial institutions, lenders in syndicated loans for amounts greater than USD350 million involving multiple actors and jurisdictions and has advised in the structuring of syndicated loans for the construction of new hotels in the Dominican Republic and the refinancing of the only vertically integrated textile project financed by Dominican capital that operates in Haiti. She also assists one of the biggest energy groups in the Caribbean and its wind energy park in the north region of the Dominican Republic.

Ms. Alvarez is a member of the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE) and a member of the Dominican Bar Association. She also volunteers for the United Nations Association of the Dominican Republic since 2008.
