On 2022 she was named as one of the 10 most influential business lawyers in the Dominican Republic by Business Today. She has been ranked in Chambers and Partners for several years as “Associate to Watch” and as “Up and Coming”. Her areas of practices include mergers and acquisitions and finance. Melissa has ample experience in regulated sectors including matters related to antitrust, financial market, securities and energy. 

Ms. Silié has been involved in landmark transactions in the local legal industry. She is also involved in major dispute resolution and anti-trust cases in the country.  Ms. Silie has vast experience in in regulated sectors including participation in private and public offerings. She has participated in process of acquisitions of securities market participants such as rating agencies. She also participated in the largest issuance of green bonds in Central America made by CMI for the purpose of financing different renewable energy projects in Latin America including Dominican Republic. 

Her experience in the construction sector include assistance with client of different jurisdiction in the process of starting business in the Dominican Republic as well as providing advice in off-shore finance for the acquisition of construction equipment. 

Her postgraduate studies and practice have been concentrated in business law, contracts, antitrust law, law and economics and intellectual property, among others. 

In her years of practice, Ms. Silié has assisted in a wide array of mergers, acquisitions and project finance transactions. Some of the cases includes the financing of a major hotel project in the eastern part of the country. She recently advised an international financial institution and a project finance that included guarantees of a local free zone company. 

Ms. Melissa Silié is a member of the Bar Association of the Dominican Republic, the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE) and the Legal Committee of the Britain Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic she is also volunteer of the United Nations Association of the Dominican Republic since 2007.
